Overview of Trading Account Activation
The overview of trading account activation explains that to provide a secure and efficient trading environment, FXTRADING.com requires all newly created trading accounts to meet a specific minimum deposit threshold before full trading functionalities are enabled. Until this minimum deposit threshold requirement is met, the trading account status remains restricted to read-only access. This article explains the rules governing trading account activation, the difference between eligible deposits and ineligible internal transfers, and how to resolve potential activation delays.
Understanding Account Activation States
Understanding account activation states is critical because when you create a new trading account at FXTRADING.com, the trading account goes through specific operational states based on the funding amount.
Read-Only Access: All newly created trading accounts default to a read-only state. In this read-only state, you can log into the platform and view market data, but you cannot open, modify, or close any trading positions.
Activated Status: The trading account is fully activated, and comprehensive trading functionalities are unlocked once the total eligible deposit is equal to or greater than the minimum threshold required for that specific account type.
Minimum Deposit Criteria for Activation
The minimum deposit criteria for activation determines that account activation is driven exclusively by the cumulative or one-time external deposits made into the specific trading account.
One-Time Deposit: Depositing the full minimum required amount or a larger amount in a single external transaction immediately activates the trading account.
Cumulative Deposits: Depositing smaller amounts that progressively accumulate to equal or exceed the minimum required amount will also activate the trading account once the target threshold is met.
Account Activation Calculation Example
This account activation calculation example demonstrates the activation logic based on a Standard Account type.
Step One: Assume the Standard Account type requires a minimum deposit of fifty US Dollars.
Step Two: If you create a Standard Account and perform no action, the account status is Read-Only.
Step Three: If you make an external deposit of twenty US Dollars, the account status remains Read-Only because twenty US Dollars is less than the required fifty US Dollars.
Step Four: If you make an additional external deposit of thirty US Dollars, bringing the cumulative total to fifty US Dollars, the account status updates to Activated. Alternatively, making a single external deposit of sixty US Dollars will also immediately update the status to Activated.
Eligible and Ineligible Funding Methods
Distinguishing between eligible and ineligible funding methods is necessary because account activation is strictly triggered by external deposit methods. Other forms of capital movement within the FXTRADING.com Client Portal do not automatically qualify for account activation.
Eligible Transactions for Account Activation
Eligible transactions for account activation include direct external deposits made via supported payment gateways. These supported gateways include credit cards, debit cards, bank wire transfers, or approved electronic wallets depositing directly into the new trading account.
Ineligible Transactions for Automatic Account Activation
Ineligible transactions for automatic account activation include internal movements of capital that do not trigger the automatic activation sequence.
Internal Transfers: Transferring existing funds from one of your trading accounts to another within the Client Portal.
Social Trading Disconnections: Capital returning to a trading account after unfollowing or canceling a subscription from a social trading provider or copy trading strategy.
Fund Management Redemptions: Funds returning to a trading account after redeeming or withdrawing capital from a managed fund or investment pool.
Important Note: If funds from social trading disconnections or fund management redemptions flow into a new trading account, the system will not automatically activate the account, even if the balance is greater than the minimum requirement. However, if the balance meets the minimum threshold for that account type, the account is eligible for manual activation by our support team using Intercom.
Troubleshooting Activation Delays
Troubleshooting activation delays involves addressing rare occasions where synchronization delays between our account management systems and trading servers may cause a trading account to remain in a read-only state after you have met the minimum deposit requirement.
If you have confirmed that your external deposit or returned investment balance is equal to or greater than the minimum deposit threshold for your account type but you still cannot place trades, please contact the FXTRADING.com support team. A representative will manually verify your balance and update your account status to fully activated.
